Pierre Boudinot

PHD
Research Director
French National Institute for Agriculture, Food, and Environment

Dr Pierre Boudinot is a fish immunologist at INRAE, France. He uses rainbow trout and zebrafish to study key aspects of fish antiviral immunity. His research mainly focuses on the IFN pathway and on B cell repertoires. He has identified a core set of highly conserved genes induced by type I interferon responses in fish and mammals. Another primary interest of his lab is the study of the diversity of fish B cell populations during responses against viruses and vaccines. Understanding mechanisms determining the clonal composition of B cell repertoires will be crucial for the future design of more effective fish vaccines. During the last years, the lab has focused on the mechanisms of protection induced by DNA and RNA vaccines.
